Possessed of a keen intellect, a discerning spirit, and a commanding presence, Cohane Michael Ben Levi is a beloved Teacher, Priest, and Minister to the Hebrew Israelite community in Guyana, the United States, and dozens of countries around the world; a ministry he has performed for over fifty years. His command of the holy books of the bible, both the Old and New Testament, in the original Hebrew, offers his congregants a learning experience and the opportunity for spiritual growth and development that is virtually unparalleled. Cohane Michael is also a freedom fighter, and social activist, and dares to speak truth to power. He is a college-educated man with a Master’s Degree and the author of three spiritual and historical books that shed light on the challenges facing the Hebrew Israelite, Christian, and Jewish communities today. Yet despite all of these accomplishments, Cohane Michael maintains a humble and serving spirit that is always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need and an attentive ear to those seeking his counsel.

Cohane Michael was born to Shmaryah Levi (Eddie Young Sr.) and Miryom Levi (Mae Young). He has nine siblings and is a devoted husband and a proud, dedicated father. He attended Boys High School located in the Bedford Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn. He later attended Morgan State College in Baltimore, Maryland for two years. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from City College of New York and his Master’s of Science in Special Education from the Graduate School of Education at City College.

Cohane Michael has served the Israelite community in his capacity as a teaching priest and minister for over fifty years and is well known and recognized as a master scholar of Israelite history, language, and culture. He has been the Principal of the Israelite Institute in New York City and Guyana, South America. Additionally, Cohane Michael has taught history in secondary school in Guyana for the Ministry of Education as well as taught in the New York City Board of Education public school system.

With a great calling upon his spirit and heart, in 1978 Cohane Michael migrated to Guyana where he established a large Israelite community and erected the first Hebrew Israelite Cultural Center in the region. He is the Head Priest of the Levitical Priesthood Academy, which is a teaching priesthood established by the late Cohen Levi Ben Yisrael. With a powerful anointing, Cohane Michael has spread Israelite teachings in Guyana, Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, Israel, Egypt, Ghana, South Africa, England, and throughout the United States of America.

As an author of three books, Cohane Michael considers them as important tools for the restoration of the true history, language, and culture of the descendants of former slaves and as a means of eradicating Christian falsehoods and lies. Through his Institute, Cohane has helped thousands of people learn the Hebrew language. He offers students a Beginner’s Hebrew Handbook and Audio CD to enhance their learning and ability to read the scripture in their original language,

Cohane Michael is the founder of Levitical Communications Inc. which is dedicated to the spreading of Israelite laws (Torah), history, and culture among Africans in the Diaspora. His first publication, Israelites and Jews: The Significant Difference, helps to direct descendants of former slaves to their Israelite heritage.  His second book, Final Resolution: The Separation of Truth and Lies in the Bible, is essential for the emancipation of the minds of the slaves who were given Christian indoctrination. In his most recent work, Our Creator & His Guidelines to Divine Relationships, Cohane Michael points all of humanity back to the laws, statutes, and commandments of the Creator which is the solution to eradicating the problems and conditions we all face in these perilous times.

Cohane Michael Ben Levi is a man of great compassion and a man anointed by the Creator to help bring a planet steeped in violence, wars, lies, corruption, and peril back to the truth of the scriptures and in doing so, help to bring truth and peace to a population so deeply in need of the love and healing that only the Almighty can provide.
